PSLE results and S1 posting

PSLE results come out in late November. You then have about a week to rank six secondary schools; MOE posts your child by PSLE score and choice order in December.

  1. Work out the posting group

The PSLE score (4 to 32) sets the posting group: 4 to 20 is PG3, 21 to 24 PG2, 25 to 30 PG1. Schools admit each group under Full Subject-Based Banding.

  2. Shortlist by cut-off

SchoolFinder publishes each school's PSLE score range for the previous year. Pick a mix: two schools the child comfortably qualifies for, two at the edge, two safe choices.

  3. Use the affiliation

If the child's primary school is affiliated to a secondary school, a separate and more generous range applies. Put the affiliated school first to use it.

  4. Submit six choices

Rank up to six schools on the S1 Internet System within the window (about a week after results). Order matters: MOE fills schools by PSLE score, then choice order, then a computer ballot for ties.

  5. Posting results in December

Results are released through the S1 system and by SMS. Report to the school on the date given. Appeals go directly to the school and are rarely successful.

Common questions

Does the child need to meet the cut-off exactly?
The published range is last year's first and last admitted score, not a fixed threshold. It moves each year with the cohort.
What about IP schools?
Integrated Programme schools admit through the same exercise with their own score range, shown as IP in the table.
